🔧Work Performed
Contacted Level 2 support. Level 2 support directed me to check and confirm which COM port was being occupied by the beige serial cable that controls NIBP function. Discovered that the NIBP serial cable was plugged into COM Port 4. The NIBP serial cable needs to be plugged into COM Port 5 for the PC to properly recognize NIBP function and operate/function as intended.
Disconnected the NIBP serial cable from COM Port 4. Successfully connected the NIBP serial cable to COM Port 5 per direction of Level 2 support.
Reset PC and rebooted unit. Unit successfully rebooted. Touchscreen connected/functioning as intended.
Re-performed BC4 calibration tool tests. Unit successfully opened the BP Cuff Port. Unit successfully opened all ports. Full BC4 calibration/test performed and completed.
PM completed. Unit online. Unit NIBP function operates as intended. Unit scale function operates as intended. All external functions operate as intended. All internal functions operate as intended.
🔍Technician Findings
Unit due for annual PM.
Pharmacy staff stated that the NIBP function was giving strange/inconsistent readings that were unnecessarily high compared to their known BP readings in recent past.
Upon inspection of unit, discovered during the BC4 calibration tests that the BP Cuff Port was unable to be recognized. Unit unable to complete/pass BC4 calibration tool tests/calibrations. Restarted unit and was immediately given "this machine is under maintenance and is unavailable" message upon re-boot. Checked COM ports for duplicates of used ports. No duplicate COM ports found being used. Reset PC. Upon system reboot, unit touchscreen did not sync for an extended amount of time and was stuck with "No Sync" Screen. Touchscreen eventually synced and once again displayed "this machine is under maintenance and is unavailable" message.
Confirmed that unit NIBP function was not functioning/operating properly.
